Lecture announcement: the 2023 Delisle lectures in Paris

We are excited to announce this year's Delisle public lectures at the Bibliothèque nationale de France, which will take place in Paris on 15-16 March.

Judith Olszowy-Schlanger will give two lectures on medieval Hebrew manuscripts from northern France: one focussing on the Bible and the other focussing on the Talmud. The Bible session (15 March; official site) will look at the Christian interest in Jewish books (particularly the Bible) and the impact of Christian books on Jewish book production. The Talmud session (16 March; official site) studies two important manuscripts of the Babylonian Talmud which managed to avoid destruction.

Both talks are at 6:30pm (local time) at the Richelieu Salle des conférences in Paris, and entrance is free (although reservation is recommended). The talks are in French.
